Having a book out in the world feels like a huge milestone. I didn’t really celebrate my MFA or my many certifications, but I am definitely celebrating this!
Care-full Creativity in Theatre and Dance Education: Consent-Forward, Trauma-Informed, Psychologically Safe Movement Pedagogy is a compilation of over 5 years of training, teaching, changing, growing, and writing it all down. I say often, and it’s even a line in the book, “learning about power and consent in intimacy choreography training changed how I do EVERYTHING, including teach dance and movement.” This book holds the theories behind why I teach what I teach, and the tools to show you how, so you can create the changes that are inspiring to you.
5 years of training and practice. 1 year of writing. 6 more months of editing. This is longer than a birth! But now, the book is ready to be out in the world. And I want to celebrate that, with you!
