Movement Director of "God's Lonely Man"

Last October, I got a call that both stunned and thrilled me.

I’ve been wanting to work on music videos for a few years now, but haven’t been able to get in. But then, Anna Calvi, incredible performer, composer, musician, was looking for a movement director in Miami. Not only did she need a movement director, she needed one who was confident with the story-telling and theatricality of touch.

I am often told that I am, as an artist, simultaneously too much and not enough: too much intimacy, not enough dance; too much dance, not enough film; too much story, not enough choreo; too much choreo, not enough story. I’ve heard them all and wondered how they could all be true. And all be reasons someone didn’t hire me.

Turns out, for the right people, I’m just right. And if Anna Calvi and Iggy Pop are my people, that’s more than OK with me.

I also want to truly thank Anna, who credited her whole team. In the credits on YouTube and in the credits of the video itself. That kind of collaborative kindness is rare, and appreciated.
